China’s January coal imports from Australia down

China imported 5.08 million tonnes of coal from top supplier Australia in January, down 47.3 percent from a year earlier, with shipments disrupted by quality inspections at Chinese ports on top of a fall in demand. Imports from Indonesia, China’s second-biggest supplier, fell 56.6 percent to 3.2 million tonnes, data from the General Administration of Customs showed on Friday.
